Jameson Doily from Berocco

This is a great doily for beginners.  Or if anyone is looking for a quick brainless project.  Berocco calls it "Intermediate" but it's extremely easy.  If you lose count of single crochets in a round,  the doily is very forgiving to quick adjustments.
Click here to find the pattern via Ravelry and see what others have done in all sizes - even floor rugs!  Click here for the pattern at the Berocco archive.
Still using up my large stash of Aunt Lydia's #10 thread in "Mexicana" colorway.

Crocheted Hobbes of "Calvin and Hobbes"

Do you like the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip?  Bill Waterston, the creator, always refused to commercialize the images of the characters, especially Hobbes, because Hobbes is imaginary, how can there be one fixed image of Hobbes for any of us?
So,  follow this link to a lovely rendition of Hobbes but never sell one for profit.  Enjoy!

Cat Pouch for Electronic Devices

Isn't that little cat paw adorable!?  Now, I have 20 very  friendly cats on the ranch, so I should make this for my cell phone!
This is a Japanese website, but the photos and pattern are self explanatory.

Box Type Purse Japanese Pattern (Sewing)

Definitely no crochet today. This old fashioned style coin purse would be a great addition to a crocheted purse. Especially if made in a coordinating fabric.
Follow this link for a detailed tutorial.  The english is a bit fractured, but the photos and patterns are self explanatory.

Pattern from Star Book of Crochet Designs No.1 (1935)

The pattern suggests size 50 thread and a #14 hook for a vanity set.
Or for a larger set, "use SILAKATEEN-SANSILK... and a No. 12 hook... the small piece will measure about 10 inches and the larger piece will measure about 15 inches square.  (Probably a size 40 thread.)
For a luncheon set. use "STAR CROCHET CORD"  and a No. 6 hook.  (Probably similar to size 10 thread.)
